October is the month of Gratitude

An expert from Mr. Palahicky’s Principal’s Message:

As we begin this new month of October, I invite us all to ponder the beautiful virtue of gratitude. Each month, as a school, we focus on one of the virtues that aligns with the virtues within our student’s agendas. With the feast of Thanksgiving fast approaching it is very appropriate that we focus on this special virtue.

In our Catholic tradition, gratitude flows from recognizing that every good thing—our teacher’s hard work, the support of families, the gift of friends, the miracles of each new day — comes from a loving God who invites us to share His goodness with others. All is truly a gift and grace. When we pause to thank, we discover that we are part of something larger: a community built on care, service, and stewardship. Gratitude is more than a courtesy or a momentary feeling; it is a lens through which we see the world and a practice that shapes our actions. It is good to remember that at the center of our communal worship is the Eucharist, which means Thanksgiving!

Let us move forward with grateful hearts, ready to respond with kindness, to serve those in need, and to celebrate the many blessings in our school and parish community.

P.S. If you are in the school, please take a look at our office bulletin board where students contributed their gratitude towards our custodial staff who are often forgotten.
