New Principal Appointed for September 2024

Dear Families of St. Joseph’s School,

I want to share a short hello and introduce myself as the soon to be principal of our St. Joseph’s School. My name is Glen Palahicky and my ethnic roots are Irish-Ukrainian: hence my love of perogies and potato chips! I am the youngest of five and grew up in another part of God’s country; Terrace B.C. As an adult, I have lived in 4 countries (Canada, USA, Bahamas, Dominican Republic), 3 provinces (BC, MB, ONT) and have taught and administered in 5 different schools over the past 30 years. The last 3 years I was principal of St. Andrew’s Regional High School and now, with much gratitude and hope, I look forward to serving at this wonderful school. My beautiful wife, Sophia and I are not strangers to the school as our son, Jonathan, attended St. Joseph’s in 2014-2016. He and his sister, Victoria, have since graduated from St. Andrew’s some years ago.

Besides all things educational, some of my leisure activities are golf, baseball, gardening, hiking, spiritual reading, action movies, DIY projects, learning new technology, meditating, traveling, a deep belly laugh and a good card game.

I look forward to working and playing with St. Joseph’s caring staff and building on the good things already in place. To be joining this hardworking team in the noble but challenging vocation of forming children, made in the Image of God, is a real gift. As the educational leader for your beautiful children, during these important years of their development, I know it will be important that school-family communication be strong and clear. May we all work respectfully together at building community and becoming more the Family of St. Joseph. See you in the fall.

With Gratitude,

Mr. Glen Palahicky, M.Ed
