We are excited to announce the construction of a new two-story daycare facility, complete with an elevator, to be built in front of the gym starting this January 2025. We successfully applied and received a $3.1 million New Spaces Fund Grant from the Ministry of Education and Child Care. This 15 month parish- school- government tri-partner development marks a step forward for our school and will create a dynamic learning environment for all the little ones and families that will feed into our school.
The new daycare will allow us to eventually remove the existing portable classrooms, creating a more cohesive and safer environment for our students. We understand that safety and traffic management are important concerns, and we will do everything needed to ensure the learning environment is protected. We will be going over new expectations with our students in the upcoming weeks.
As seen on the site map below please notice a few highlights coming in January; more information will follow:
*Half of our front area will be safely fenced off for the construction therefore our end of day pick up will
need more attention! ie. students sectioned in grade levels, focused attention for rides, loitering limited,
traffic flow efficiency.
*There will be no front entrance to the gym for 15 months; only the use of the side doors will be available.
*Our hot lunch distribution and our uniform room will need to be temporarily moved to locations in the
school lower floor.
Anything worthwhile involves some legitimate suffering. The process of giving birth to a new early learning center in 15 months will bring joy! A big shout out goes to Ms. Wendy Bird-Borau, who has been instrumental in moving this project forward. Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work towards improving our school facilities!
In Gratitude,
